Monoki Women's
With an architect father and a sculptor mother, she grew up in Paris in a demanding artistic universe.
After studying at the Central Saint Martins School, Diane founded the Aprilmay brand, which she managed for ten years: we find her street art influences and 90's photographs, a taste for travel and a refined bohemian style.
Passionate about Tarot as much as about fashion, Diane is now naturally embarking on the creation of a line of kimonos, called Monoki.
She gets her supplies from a karate school, has them dyed, washed and then embroidered by a craftsman in Los Angeles. Her kimonos are then embroidered by hand with colored threads, like a signature, which gives them a unique touch.
This lengthy artisanal process culminates in the blessing of each piece by a Shaman in Big Sur, California. Then Diane attaches to each Kimono a Tarot card of which she writes the interpretation.
There is in Monoki a mixture of Diane's desires and inspirations, the requirement of beautiful embroidered materials and a touch of mystical spirituality.
